Perfervid Lines is a series of work that takes on a primitive and evocative fusion of expressive marks and subtle tonal shifts. Through an evolving vision of self expression that is central to this body of work, conveys an energy of poetic contradictions. Combined with painting and drawing elements, disassembled, reassembled and thus, re-imagined, the interplay of raw elements act as a deep vista of an imaginary landscape. Setting the tone for multiple levels of expression. "The exploration of this series has taken me back to my curious drawing and mark-making roots. The Perfervid Lines series, for me, is an ardent and exuberant meeting of deconstruction and reconstruction, past and present."
In a very abstracted approach, I'm interested in pushing some sort of iconography into historical and social context.
Challenging contradictions between fundamentals and expression, by aggressively attacking ideas and assumptions reflected in the vast social arenas. Challenging all assumptions and stereotypes and producing just really good art. Without necessarily having an avant-garde or afrocentric nature to be acceptable to the art-world stereotype.
This is, in itself, a condition within the my work which is simply a reflection of my experiences and feelings about what I understand.
