I began using shooting Street Art primarily because the wall-as-canvas interested me in the primitive sense of making marks on any given surface. With consideration to place and placement, how it's used as a "sign" for those with a desire to unabashedly make a very public statement. This small selection of personal snap-shots around various cities are committed to the practice of "street shooting," as it's own form of expression. I'm in search of that reflection of my own aesthetic appreciations. There is an "us" versus landscape collaboration that surrounds our everyday you cannot ignore. How we interact within it, interests my own work. There is a sort-of historical value when you capture art in an urban landscape that will soon be removed or painted over (for sure). These shots were taken from a variety of urban landscapes from my travels.

The real thrill for me, is in the moment, capturing the unexpected and the unplanned compositions through the spontaneous nature of "snapshots." It's the need to document any given moment. If not for the capture, it will be forever lost and likely forgotten. That place of time, gone.
